125 – RPG Fans are Eating Good

Welcome to Episode 125 of The RPG After Years! This week, Scott and Rich round up the mountains of RPG news we got out of the Nintendo Direct, Sony State of Play, Tokyo Game Show, and more!

  • The RPG After Years is hosting an RPG Club! It’s like a book club, but with RPGs, and we hope all of you play along! The patrons have voted, and the new RPG Club game will be Phantasy Star IV, originally released on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive! The club will kick off on Sunday, September 25th!   • In the news: Cyberpunk 2077 announces a major DLC expansion! But do we care?
  • News: Ubisoft has announced a new Assassin’s Creed, and it’s FINALLY set in feudal Japan!
  • News: The Nintendo Direct gave us SO much! Fire Emblem Engage, Front Mission, Harvestella, Atelier Ryza 3, Crisis Core Reunion, Tales of Symphonia 3, Octopath Traveller II, and FINALLY the title and release date for the Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel!
  • News: The Sony State of Play was no slouch either. Approximately 14 new Yakuza games, Rise of the Ronin, and Project E.V.E., we mean Stellar Blade!
  • News: Tokyo Game Show is happening too! Demos for Valkyrie Elisium and the new Star Ocean, as well as Suikoden I and II Remasters!
